Youth Ministry

Youth have found a safe haven at Open House Ministries. For the past seven years, OHM has hosted Thursday night J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) every week, from 6 - 8 pm. Between 25 - 40 youth come together for food, fun, fellowship, bible study, worship, and games. JAM nights are crazy, but the craziness helps us to introduce many youth to Christ!

OHM dives in deeper with several other youth programs designed to help teens really engage in bible study and apply biblical principles to their daily lives. One of these programs is Alive Again, a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program, based on the book of James from the bible. Alive Again teaches youth how to break the cycle of addiction and make positive choices for their lives!

OHM is intentional about reaching out to our middle-school students. These students are often targeted for recruitment by 4 local gangs that plague our neighborhood. OHM has created a gang alternative called M.A.F.I.A. (Males and Females in Action). The MAFIA youth are invited to gather in our "Imagination Station" computer lab, in the afternoon, Monday - Thursday, to do homework, learn new computer skills, do bible study and enjoy recreation time together! The MAFIA gives our youth a sense of belonging, but allows them to honor their Kingdom values and principles.
